The Sea of Dreams spat me out with no memories, no idea of who I was or what my purpose might be. When Captain Bo, dream killer extraordinaire, arrived, I took a chance to explore. On the road of discovery, I tripped upon dreamplanes floating dead in a graveyard, scared children attempting to survive their dreams turned nightmare, strange guardians, rogue Dreamlanders, and ships with hearts of silver. I learned more about Dreamland than I ever thought possible. But people are dying. They’re disappearing. Dreamland is twisting, shifting, ripping. I don’t know how best to help, how to save those I’ve met, who have wormed their way into my heart. If only I knew who I was, what I’d been born to do. Then I found out. I know who I am. I wish I didn’t. Dream Killers is geared for fans of Once Upon a Time. The first season (Spring 2014) consists of 3 novellas called episodes. It follows River as he discovers who he is and his role in Dreamland. Dream Killers is to Dreamland Stories what Agents of Shield is to the Marvel movies. Dreamland is an intense, rich, fascinating world with lots going on. If you like fairy tales, are looking for something new,try this one.

Missy’s Review:
Dream Killers Season 1 was an interesting series of books. Dreamland was filled with magical beings and the dreams other people had created. We follow River as he leaves the travelers who took him in to travel the sea of dreams with Captain Bo and his pirates. River has no memories before his group of travelers took him in; he longed to be accepted by them but knew they would always fear him. He had none of their skills but the skill he did have, being able to hear the whispers of the sea, scared them. While everyone else around him dreads the sea and is harmed by it River finds comfort in the dreams it feeds him letting him live through the visions. He joins Captain Bo and finds himself discovering who he really is.
I found the beginning of this series a little slow at times and there was some language writing and terms I had a hard time understanding. But as the series continued on the language became less of a problem and I started to understand the use of Who and Place a little better.
Once the characters had been established and River started to understand the things he could accomplish in Dreamland and the things he was meant to do the story picked up fast. We followed River and Bo as they traveled to different dream planes trying to save peoples forgotten dreams from being destroyed by the dream killers, the dreamers and the fading Dreamland that they called home.
Dream Killers Season 1 was a good fantasy story, different from some other stuff I’ve read. There were a lot of references to current events, movies, shows and social things leaving me wonder who River really was. I look forward to finding out more about him and what happens to Dreamland in the next series.
